Since its designation as the graduate student practice teaching base of Tianjin University in 2021, the research institute has actively fostered deep cooperation among government, academic institutions, and enterprises in the realm of 'New Engineering Education' practices. Leveraging the think tank resources, laboratory facilities, and training systems of the institute, coupled with close collaboration with enterprises, the institute has provided both academic and industry mentors to guide graduate students in addressing innovative challenges for enterprises, facilitating product research and development, and nurturing engineering innovation talents tailored to industry demands.

　　The establishment of the 'graduate student practice teaching base' has enabled Tianjin University and the research institute to synergize their respective resource strengths, resulting in significant outcomes in talent cultivation, scientific research, and the sharing of equipment and data. Presently, doctoral and master's students from various research teams are stationed at the institute, actively engaged in research endeavors.

　　Joint Training of Outstanding Engineers

　　The institute has implemented the initiative of "Institute-Enterprise Joint Cultivation of Outstanding Engineers." This initiative leverages the institute's think tank resources, laboratory facilities, and training system. Through close collaboration with enterprises, it provides dual mentors from both the institute and the industry to jointly guide graduate students in tackling innovative technologies for enterprises and conducting product research and development, thereby completing their graduate degrees and nurturing engineering innovation talents that are truly needed by the industry. Currently, the institute has initiated joint cultivation programs for 15 engineering master's students who have been admitted, and corresponding enterprise projects have been allocated.

　　Now the institute has admitted 61 outstanding engineering master's students undergoing training at the institute.
